The iPad mini with Retina is Apple’s new 7.9-inch tablet that comes with a high-resolution display, A7 processor with 64-bit CPU, and all the other features of the larger iPad Air, in a lighter and smaller body. “We think customers will love both of these thin, light, powerful new iPads, and we’re working hard to get as many as we can in the hands of our customers. The response to iPad Air has been incredible, and we’re excited for customers to experience the new iPad mini with Retina display,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. IPad mini with Retina display is available to order through the Apple Online Store (to ship or through Personal Pickup at Apple’s retail stores, and through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and select Apple Authorized Resellers. In a press release published a few minutes ago, Apple mentioned that it will also be available with Personal Pickup at Apple retail stores (in the United States at least): The launch followed rumors of a “delay” for the iPad mini due to supply constraints for the new Retina display.Īs of this morning, the iPad mini with Retina display is available through the Apple online store with shipping times of 5-10 business days for both WiFi and WiFi + Cellular models. The launch came as a surprise due to the lack of press releases to pre-announce the launch and product reviews from journalists who received a unit in advance. Soulver ios alternative update#I’ve been taking a picture every day for the past two weeks Daily has worked fine for me and I like its design and feature set.įollowing an update posted on the GSX website last night, Apple today launched the iPad mini with Retina display on its online store. ![]() The app is relatively new, so I can’t comment on its reliability over several months with a library of hundreds of photos (which, by the way, can be saved to the Camera Roll or kept in the app). In the camera view, you can create and turn on guides to better align your face with the iPhone, and there’s a button to overlay a previous pic on the screen so you’ll always capture pictures with the same angle/distance. You can set reminders for each dayli and a frequency (you will get a local notification on your iPhone) once you have a collection of pictures you want to put together, you can create a video at 2, 4, or 8 FPS. The app can create multiple “daylis” (albums) that can contain separate collections of pictures. The app produces best results with selfies and it’s reminiscent of Everyday, although Daily is fully ready for iOS 7 (which is also required). Nice app by Adam Swinden: Dayli lets you take a picture every day and create a timelapse video to see how things have changed over time. ![]()

You don’t need to put them in direct sunny light – that can burn them up – but go for a sunny window or bright indirect light! When should I propagate tradescantia? Yes – light is an important part of rooting. How do you root a plant cutting in water Step 1 Choose the plant that you want to propagate. However, I found that tradescantia plants rooted easily and quickly in water, no hormone needed. You can dip cuttings in rooting hormone to encourage root growth. How do you encourage the roots to grow from cuttings? I find water easier for these but if you use moist soil, loosely cover it with a plastic bag to help keep it moist. Pooling water can lead to root rot and plant death! Can you put cuttings straight into soil? Or, add your baby plants to the pot of your existing plant for a fuller plant.īe sure the new pot has proper drainage holes. Plant your new plant in moist potting mix and place in a sunny window. STEP 6: Plant in soil and enjoy your new baby plant! We had new roots form in less than a week! Wait at least 2 weeks or until your roots are 2 inches or so long. This is the test tube propagation station that we built. STEP 4: Place in water in indirect sunlight ![]() Remove the bottom leaves from the cut node and any other nodes that will fall under water on the tradescantia cuttings. Put the glass in a place with lots of indirect light, and in a few days you'll see roots. Gently push the stems through, until the stems are well immersed and supported by the film. Roots will grow just where leaves are out of that node! STEP 3: Remove leaves on that bottom node (leave only the top 4 or less leaves on the cutting) Fill a transparent glass or jar with water, cover it with plastic wrap, and poke a few holes in the top for your cuttings. Use clean sharp scissors to cut just below the leaf node. Very long stems can be cut into segments to create several cuttings. It’s best to do this on a healthy branch of the parent plant with new growth, for best odds of success. Nodes are the bumps that leaves grow out of! Find one closest to where you want to make your cutting. Tradescantia is a beautiful trailing plant with purple heart leaves that is easy to propagate with stem cuttings! Here’s how! STEP 1: Identify the node #Plant clippings in water how to#Hooray for plant propagation! How to Propagate Tradescantia I’m excited to root a bunch of thee cuttings to share with friends and swap in my local plant swap group for more cuttings. It’s a great trailing house plant for hanging planters and hanging baskets. Plus, it’s so pretty with the purple underside of the leaves. Tradescantia is one of the easiest houseplants to propagate in water and that makes me love it even more. I recently grabbed a plant at my local plant swap (at the House of Brews if anyone is local in Charleston!)Ĭommon names for Tradescantia Zebrina include:Īs I do with most plants with soft green stems, I took a cutting.Īnd, I was shocked that it grew roots in just a couple of days.
